How To Use A Projector With A Mac

Fortunately, Apple´s MacBook Pro line of laptops all features a video output port through which you can connect your laptop to a projector. Knowing how to connect your laptop to a projector can be useful, to say the least.

For a start, when there is a need for you to present slideshows, documents, or images to your clients, you can easily use a digital projector to your benefit. You can even use Home Theater Projector to watch HD movies; a Home Theater Projector is capable of producing images up to 35 times bigger than a 50¨ class HDTV! However, you should be aware that the video output port often differs according to the manufacturing date of your Mac. Hence, you should ensure that you have the appropriate Apple display adapter for your laptop model. >>> Check great options on Amazon

For the most part, using a projector with a Mac is not a difficult task; it is relatively simple. Although not every setup process is identical, there are a few basic steps that can help guide you through the setup process. Without further ado, here´s how you can use a projector with a MAC.

First Step

First and foremost, you need to power on your Mac. Then, you should plug in the power cable of the projector to a power outlet and switch on the device as well.

Second Step

After that, you should use a video cable to connect the projector to your Mac. Basically, you should connect one part of the VGA cable to the video input port on the projector and plug the other part into the wide end of the Apple display adapter. (>>> Check if you don’t have VGA)Then, you should connect the small end of the Apple display adapter to the video output port on the side of your Mac. As we mentioned earlier, the Apple display adapter can differ according to the manufactured date of your Mac; they vary depending on your laptop´s video inputs.

Third Step

After the Mac and projector are connected, you should head to the Apple Menu located in the top left corner of your screen. After clicking the Apple Menu, you should select ¨System Preferences¨ from the drop-down menu. Once there, you should select the ¨Displays¨ icon. The Display window should now be displayed; it is now time for you to click the ¨Detect Displays¨ switch. >>> Check this guide if you also want to connect  your projector to tablet

Fourth Step

By now, your projector and Mac should already be synchronized. However, if your Mac´s desktop doesn´t appear on the projector, you should hold the ¨Source¨ switch on the projector until you see the laptop´s screen. If that still doesn´t work, we would advise you to go back to ¨Displays¨ icon and select the Arrangement tab found in the menu bar. You should then check the ¨Mirror Displays¨ box in the lower left corner of the window. The displays should be mirrored after a second or two, enabling you to see the same image on both your Mac and projector.
